What is BioPPS?
BioPPS is a series of biodegradable and compostable plastic resins that offer eco-friendly advantages over conventional solutions, especially for the packaging industry. BioPPS compostable products are advanced polymer compounds that are capable of degrading and returning to the environment in industrial composting vessels. These products are mainly composed of biodegradable polyesters including Starch (Thermoplastic Starch), PLA (Polylactic Acid), and PBAT (PolyButylene Adipate Terephthalate) blended systems. BioPPS has innovated and developed different compounds (with different formulations) for various industries and the portion of the starch, PLA, and PBAT will be varied depends on the products and needs of customers.
PPS Innovation’s biodegradable and compostable products (BioPPS) uses starch and other cheap ingredients along with PLA (Polylactic Acid) and PBAT (Poly Butylene Adipate Terephthalate) in the formulation. This leads the price to be competitively low compared to other similar products in the market. Further, the BioPPS can be processed through traditional plastic machinery without the need for extra modifications. It delineates that manufacturers of conventional plastic products can readily switch to using BioPPS products with no additional cost.
